Goodnight, Sweet boy

This will be the last update on Sabian.

On the morning of September 25th, we said goodbye to Sabian. This comes with a with a mix of sadness and gratitude for the unforgettable time we've had with him. We would also like to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who was a part of his life and showed their affection and support during his illness. That care has helped us navigate this process.

Sabian's journey was one of resilience, and unwavering love. When Sabian left us in his sleep, he was peaceful and without pain. He was surrounded by those who cherished him most—his family. It was a moment of quiet grace, a fitting end to a life that touched us all.

On his last day, Sabian reveled in the simple joys of life, as he had done throughout his time. MacAuley Point, his favorite park, became his kingdom, and he embraced the role of King Sabien with all the regal dignity he possessed. As he plodded along the familiar paths, his loyal companions Mezzie and Darby bounced ahead, a testament to the enduring bonds of his pack.

Sabian's affinity for splashing in the water was unmistakable as he strolled along the shore, his paws immersed in the cool embrace of the waves. He had an uncanny knack for finding the most peculiar and delightful things to investigate, reminding us that life's treasures are often hidden in unexpected places.

And of course, he wore his King's Crown, not because he needed it to symbolize his place as a monarch, but simply because he could - his sense of style and flair was as unique as his spirit.

Sabian was a King.

To all who had the privilege of knowing Sabian, he was, without a doubt, royalty. His sweet and loving disposition made him the center of our world. He commanded our attention, not with regal authority, but with his gentle presence and boundless affection.

Sabian had the remarkable ability to touch our hearts with the simplicity of his love. Anyone who looked into his big brown eyes was moved by the depth of his quiet affection and the warmth of his heart.

A benevolent King rules with genteel consideration.

As the day moved on on, Sabian grew tired. He took the opportunity to rest a few times along the way. Each pause was a chance to savour the beauty of his park and the joy of his family's company. He relaxed watching other dogs scamper about, a reminder that life is a tapestry of tranquil moments, and the excitement of new discoveries.

Back at home, Sabian had a special dinner with his beloved brother Mezzie and his sister Darby. A feast fit for a king, they shared a meat salad made with everything in the barn - chicken, duck, lamb, chicken hearts, and steak chunks.

Later that night, Sabers and his pack received an early visit from Santa Claus. There was no real reason, Santa was just in the neighbourhood and wanted to see some dogs. It was a fun moment with lots of ear scritches, nose boops, and giggles as well as a reminder to live in the moment and appreciate spontaneous adventures. The rest of the night was filled with cuddles and kisses.

As we say our final goodbye to Sabian, we are reminded what it means to be a King. To find joy all around us, and to accept the love we are shown. To make a big impact with a soft touch.

Rest in peace, Sweet Boy. You were a King in every sense of the word. Your legacy lives on in the love you shared, and your spirit will always be with us as a silent presence and the shadow of your wagging tail.

Goodnight, Sabian.
